nite photography at Telok Ayer

Nite photography is fun. For this photo outing, I used a small aperture (eg f8) and play around with shutter speed from 1 sec onwards. Keeping the aperture small is one way to bring almost everything in focus and also to prevent the photo from being over exposed. Remember to carry a tripod for nite photography.

Toa Payoh Town Park

Everybody knows that Toa Payoh is a HDB housing estate. But did you know that nested within the concrete jungle is an oasis of greenery?

I took a walk at Toa Payoh Town Park one fine evening after work. Surprisingly,  the park is very scenic and I only discovered this now, though OrangeTee building is just opposite the park.

Selegie – a walk down memory lane

I took a stroll with my camera along Selegie Road and its neighbourhood last weekend after my viewing at Sophia Residence. Much of Selegie "old" characters since my school days are preserved. Even the old Cathay Cinema facade is maintained, though the old cinema building was torn down and rebuilt.  Now, we have the School of the Arts (SOTA) as the dominating character in the Selegie Area.

Go take a stroll at Selegie . It will sure bring back some fond memories of your school daze. Remember Bras Basah?

Lorong Halus expedition

Was out biking on Sep 2, 2014 at Lorong Halus. There are plenty of greeneries and wetlands to enjoy. Lorong Halus was once a landfill area for dumping rubbish. Now it is slated to be an Industrial area per URA Master Plan 2014. Go check out the greeneries before they are gone.

Out biking at Hendon Road

Was out biking this morning at Hendon Road. There are quite a number of restored black and white colonial buildings at Hendon Road off Changi. The restored buildings will be turned into hotels and F&B space. It's good steep ride along Hendon Road if you are looking for challenges.

Take pictures of pictures you like

Have you ever come across incidents where you saw a picture or a poster that you like and wish that you had that picture in your computer? Well, with today’s camera well above 10M pixel, you can do it quite easily. Here are some tips.

1. Make sure that lighting around the picture is balance.
2. Take the picture at an angle that the whole picture is in focus.
3. Use software to correct the perspective eg Photoshop

So, there you have it.
